Scentsy

Ok. So, I started a new business this week! I signed up for "one of those" party company's. If you are like me you only really attend those because you have some friend who really, really, really neeeds you to come. Well, I had one of those friends and she invited me to her Scentsy party. I came thinking this is would be like all the others I had been to and I would be looking at stuff that I could really not afford and searching out the cheapest item I could buy and not offend anyone.
It didn't take me long to see that this one was different. There was no long speech given by the consultant and people were just sitting around smelling these wonderful testers and chatting. I jumped in and started sniffing. While I was enjoying myself I still had in the back of my head " how much is this going to cost me". Then I was handed a catalog to my amazement the most expensive item was 30 dollars! But you know me I was still going to get out as cheap as I could. What can I say? It's just what I do. It was my lucky day they were already having a sale! I bought a plug in warmer and three candle blocks to go with it for 15 dollars. Normally this package would have been 25 dollars. Mrs Cheap here and I am still thinking 15 dollars?
Well, my stuff came, I got it out of the box plugged it in and plopped in a cube of mochadoodle. That's when I fell in love.... The product was so easy to use and the results were wonderful! A candle I could leave "burning" 24 hours a day!
After about 5 months of enjoyment, friends telling me how wonderful my home smelled and asking me how they could get their own I have decided to become a consultant!

Wednesday night dinner

Rolls that my mother taught me to make
when I was first learning to cook.







I didn't have any buttermilk so I used sour milk
(1TBS of vinegar per cup of milk).
















I also used one half white and one half grain wheat flour.

heavy cream but forgot to take pictures .

Oh my I'm such an Israelite!

As I read the familiar story of the Israelites being lead by moses through the wilderness I suddenly realize how often I act just as they did in unbelief. Every time they faced an imposable challenge they ran to Moses in fear.
Blaming him for the situation that they were in.
Exo 14:11(ESV) They said to Moses, "Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt?

Oh, how often I have done this! Every time we as a family come to an uncomfortable place, I run to my husband! Often starting a "conversation" with " you are the leader of this family how could you allow us to be put in this situation?". Never thinking that just as God through Moses lead the people by way of the Red Sea instead of by land to grow their faith, he to is growing my faith.
Exo 13:17(ESV) When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near.
Exo 14:2(ESV) "Tell the people of Israel to turn back and encamp in front of Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, in front of Baal-zephon; you shall encamp facing it, by the sea.

Prayer

I read this book about praying scripture and have been putting it to practice. I could not have imagined all the wonderful things that it has already brought about in my life. It is something awesome when you bring to God's attention the things he has in mind for you. It is also very comforting to know that what I am praying IS HIS WILL and he will bring it about all I have to do is ask and claim it!
